Kish Mowj Int’l Short Film Festival kicks off

The 4th Mowj Int’l Short Film Festival with films from 19 countries opens on the Iranian Kish Island.

The 4th edition of the Mowj International Short Film Festival with films from 19 countries has kicked off on the Iranian Kish Island.

The international section will be hosting a lineup of 20 films while a total of 41 films will be competing in the national section of the event.

The foreign films are from Sweden, Iraq, Morocco, Spain, Tanzania, France, Lebanon, Austria, Syria, Peru and several other countries.

Founder of the River Film Festival in Italy Emilio Della Chiesa, film producer Irina Ruiz Figueroa from Panama and Iranian actress Fatemeh Motamed-Arya make the jury members of the international section of the festival this year.

The national section also has Kianush Ayyari, Touraj Aslani, Houman Seyyedi, Mahvash Sheikholeslami and Mohsen Ostadali in the jury panel.

The event has two main sections: 1. Short film with the subject of travel and tourism, and 2. Short screenplay, which is only for the Iranian participants, according to mowjfest.kish.ir.

The Kish Mowj Int’l Short Film Festival aims at creating an interaction between short and feature cinema. It also bridges the gap between Iranian filmmakers and filmmakers around the world
